Since then, for over 37 years, JSSC has achieved numbers of remarkable results such as technological researches and developments related to steel construction, and establishments of codes and standards of structural steel and steel construction by mutual cooperation of its members companies and scholars and engineers.
The scope of its activities extends widely from sponsoring or participating in international activities representing structural steel associations in Japan, sponsoring "Steel Construction Symposia" and publishing "Journal of Steel Construction Engineering " as the organization playing a role of an academic institute of steel structure, to the activities for the maintenance of quality of steel construction as the organization for "Building Steel Structure Qualification (OBSSQ)".
In order to cope with the social demands in Japan and fulfill its public responsibilities, JSSC will persevere in its efforts to realize the new market of steel structure and expand its market together with its wide-range of members.
